14U Hofmann Coaches

Dave Hofmann

Founder & Owner, Head Coach

“These times are for these girls to play as much as they can, to make friendships and learn life lessons that they will all carry into adulthood.”

Coach Dave started the Long Island Rage Fastpitch organization in January 2020, and he has created an environment and culture where it’s about fairness, opportunity and for these girls to enjoy themselves playing the sport that they love. He looks to teach all our Rage girls how to be great and supportive teammates and to play the game of softball with respect and dignity. With an initial 12U team of 15 great young players and ladies back in January 2020 Coach Dave has built a growing and thriving softball organization. “Our foundation has allowed us to grow from one team to becoming the fastest growing organization on the island, owning our own indoor facility, employing and having on staff over 20+ people and having over 110+ girls in our Rage system every year since 2023.”

Coach Dave has always believed that every girl that wants to play softball should have that opportunity and that there is no one that should tell any young lady that they “shouldn’t play softball”.  He has always welcomed girls to his organization at all levels of play, and Coach Dave and his coaching staff will work with them and give them all the tools they need to grow and play this great sport of fastpitch softball. Coach Dave has always and will always offer different levels of teams to accommodate all players and allow them to have plenty of playing time to enhance their skills, build their confidence and allow them to grow as a player and teammate.

Akira Regan

Assistant Coach

Coach Akira grew up playing softball and passed that love of the game on to her two daughters. What began as coaching her own children quickly grew into a lifelong passion for developing young athletes. She coached with West Babylon Little League until her daughters aged out, and also served as Vice President of Softball for four years.

Coach Akira went on to coach in the Roosevelt School District at the middle school, JV, and varsity levels. In her final year as Varsity Head Coach, she led the program to the best record in school history.

For the past three years, she has coached with Rage, working with athletes from 12U through 18U, continuing her commitment to skill development, teamwork, and love for the game.

Gianna Brown

Assistant Coach

Gianna Brown has been involved in the game of softball for over eleven years and brings both passion and experience to the coaching staff. A proud graduate of Bellport High School, Gianna was a three-year varsity starter, earning All-League honors and recognition as a Scholar-Athlete for her dedication both on the field and in the classroom. She played primarily at third base, known as a power hitter, but is also versatile at first base and behind the plate as a catcher.

While at Bellport, Gianna also attended BOCES, where she earned a certificate to teach children ages 2–5. She is currently attending St. Joseph’s University, majoring in Child Study to pursue her goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. In addition to being a collegiate softball player, Gianna has spent the past two years helping coach youth and middle school softball teams, where she continues to build her experience as a developing coach. Gianna played with the Long Island Rage Fastpitch organization for 4 years where she excelled not only as a player but teammate. Gianna currently holds the LI Rage record for 7 homeruns & 62 RBIs in one travel softball year (2023/2024).

Gianna values growth, success, and teamwork, both in herself and in her players. She strives to create a positive and motivating environment where every athlete can develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game.
